Evaluations
Speech-Language Evaluations
We provide comprehensive speech-language evaluations that encompass all communication domains, such as oral-motor, social-pragmatics, grammar/syntax, word meaning/semantics, play skills, prelinguistic skills, speech sound development and intelligibility, and more. Depending on the reasons for referral, an evaluation can include the following:

-
Parent Interview and Case History
-
Child-Therapist Play interaction
- Language sample analysis
- Formal and informal testing measures

This is to ensure we accurately depict your child's strengths and areas in which support is needed. After the evaluation, should therapy be recommended, we will work together in collaboration to make a therapy plan that is best suited and catered to your child's needs. Evaluations can also be provided as a "second opinion" source as well.

AAC Evaluations
We offer AAC (alternative/augmentative communication) device evaluations. This is often a communication modality for children that are non-speaking and/or have difficult speech intelligibility. If your child qualifies for a speech-generating device, we will help submit the report to insurance in order to receive a funded device. AAC device evaluations typically consist of the following:

-
Determine eligibility for AAC use
-
Determine which device/application is best suited for your child
- Provide a comprehensive assessment report
- Submit the report to insurance for funding

Therapy
Speech-language therapy
Because each and every child is an individual with different strengths and needs, speech-language services will vary. The therapeutic approaches recommended by the SLP, as well as your schedule availability, will dictate the duration and frequency of sessions. Multiple communication domains can be covered at once in a session, such as social skills, executive functioning, and functional language use. The therapeutic approaches we are most familiar with are:

-
Echolalia/Scripting/Gestalt Language Processing
-
Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC)
-
Articulation and Phonology
-
Executive Functioning
-
Late Talkers
-
Support for non or minimally speaking children
-
Expressive & Receptive Language
-
Neurodivergent & Strengths-based ASD approaches

Parent Training
Parent Consultation and Training
While SLPs do a wonderful job at providing treatment to clients, a huge part of client success is carryover and implementation at home. We understand the idea of embedding communication at home can be daunting, which is why a parent consultation and training model is recommended as part of treatment sessions.
The type of training and consultation will vary depending on the service needs of your child. For example, if your child is working on specific speech sounds, homework with their specific word targets will be provided. If your child is learning how to use an AAC device, biweekly core word implementation and device training will be recommended.
